What Does Blocking a Slayer Task Mean?

When you receive a Slayer task from a Slayer Master, the task involves killing a specific number of creatures. If you find a task annoying, too difficult, or not worth the rewards, you can block it. Once blocked, you'll never receive that task again, and in many cases, you'll be given a new task.

You can block up to 6 tasks at level 50 Slayer and as high as 12 tasks with Slayer reward points. Each Slayer Master offers different task blocking options, and you'll need to consider which tasks hinder your progression the most. While you can also unblock tasks using reward points, knowing which tasks to block in the first place can make a significant difference.

Cave Horrors require a black mask or full face mask to safely complete the task, as they deal high damage with their fear attack. Even with the required mask, the task can be a hassle, as it involves fighting in the Morytania Slayer Dungeon, which is located in a somewhat dangerous area.

Furthermore, the loot from Cave Horrors is generally poor, consisting mostly of low-value items, and the overall task can be quite slow. Slayer points can be better spent on tasks that offer better rewards and faster completion times.

2. Dust Devils

Difficulty: Low

Reason to Block:

Dust Devils are an annoying task to complete because they are often located in the Catacombs of Kourend or Dust Devil Dungeon, where they can be very crowded, making it difficult to get a full task done quickly.

The main issue with Dust Devils is their long kill times, especially when using melee or ranged. While they drop dust devil heads that can be turned into the dust battlestaff, it's a rare drop, and the loot otherwise isn't great.

Even with the Abyssal Sire drop possibility, it still doesn't make the task worthwhile for many players. Blocking Dust Devils can make your Slayer grind more efficient.

3. Nechryaels
